Topaz or yellow Topaz is the most typical variety although there are other colours, like blue, pink and colourless.
Today the blue Topaz is the most frequent in the market. It is usually pale in colour, slightly grey or even greenish.
The stones do not normally display inclusions, the most popular cut is oval, although mixed and table cuts are also used.
The blue Topaz is found in different pats of Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Birmania, former Soviet Union countries, Namibia and Nigeria.
It is normally found in the form of long, prismatic crystals. The transparent, coloured crystals with deep brilliance are used as gem-stones.
